Flight Training

Back in the Air again. Wow! Stressful with CFI sitting next to you. He is really good and now I see how little the original training showed me the proper way to do stuff. We are doing a lot of ATC talk. Good to do.

Surprising is the difference in conversations here. “D” class and “E” class. Talking to the TOWER like I am in “E” space seems odd. I do miss the Tower situation that Gainsville does not have. NO Ground, NO Tower.

Having the CFI also mess’s with cockpit organization. I hate not having all the frequency stuff loaded.  The garmin did a good job with this…

The Plane avionics is really different Vs. Garmin. I should have done a GARMIN CLUB vs. Bendix. The Glass may change that thought.  I also hate the upper wing and really want to get back to piper or Diamond DA40.

Global Warming - NOT

When TV was simple! And Life was less complex!

A Rather Melancholy Sunday with my thoughts wondering everywhere; Sheila is in Joliet visiting family!

My brother sent me great site today and I had the chance to see some favorite Black & White of Twilight Zone.

Harry and I were just talking about the lazy days of summer. When all you needed to do was enjoy the time off from school.
I luv those memories. Simple times. You had your bike and might ride to the Pond to fish or go to hickory creek to catch ‘crawfish’ for bait. Sometime I would get a ‘K-O Choc’ Soda from the machine in front of the Walona Motel on RT30; near New Lenox. I sure did but the mile on the bike!

I spent a lot of time by myself. Closet Friend was Lou and still friends 45Years later. He lives in HI and does police work. Kinda of odd too in that Lou would have to arrest himself for some of the stupid stunts he did!

Summer was slow and simple. Wish I would have had sun screen. I amazed that my ‘white’ Irish skin is not more fried.

Our Dad died in a car accident when I was 9 years old. Guess we never really understood, as kids, how that really changed the course of our lives. The summers really did change after that!

I am very fortunate to have gotten a college education, met a good women, and raised (almost done) a great family 2 Girls and 1 Boy; Hayley, Bret, and Alexandra. Each as different as snowflakes! Who would have ever guessed!

I wonder about their future and happiness. I now live in Northern Atlanta and really do not miss all the COLD in Joliet Ill. I do miss having the kids close. Would luv to play golf with Bret every day or go to a movie with Hayley! Still not sure about Ms. Alex. Would luv to take her flying or play racquetball.

Just all the ‘things’ that create priceless memories and like the Twilight Zone said: It is not the past rather the FUTURE!

But I do ENJOY the memories and hope those things live on somehow.

Flying IFR

Well, got my 3rd class medical updated for flying. I now need to get hooked up with Lanier Flight Club and refresh. I have decide to get my stamps for Complex and IFR in 2008. I would then luv to start flying cross country to Joliet/Dupage Illinois to visit family and friends.

I hope the next few years go well. I would luv to get a partial ownership in a new Cirrus G3. wow!

And it goes without saying that in need to do ‘glass’. I like the Garmin new synthetic terrain software, but Cirrus likes Avidyne systems. oh! Well!
